Type: Real-time GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude)

Source: Your device’s location services, with your explicit permission

Scope: Only the current location and map region necessary to fetch nearby police alerts

Technical Usage Data

Type: Anonymous request identifiers, timestamps of alert fetches

Source: Generated in-app for debugging or performance monitoring

Scope: Ephemeral and used only during active app sessions

3. How We Use Your Information
To query our alerts API and display up-to-date police activity pins on the map

To adjust alert frequency or map region based on your in-app settings

We do not:

Store your location history

Associate location data with any personal profile

Transmit or store data on our servers beyond the immediate API request and response

4. Data Storage & Retention
In-Memory Processing Only: All location and technical usage data are held in volatile memory and discarded as soon as each map update or alert fetch completes.

No Persistence: We never write location or usage data to disk, logs, or databases on your device or our servers.

5. Data Sharing
No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share your location or usage data with advertisers, analytics vendors, or any other third parties.

Legal Compliance: Only if required by valid legal process (e.g., subpoena), and even then, we have no stored records to provide.

We use secure HTTPS/TLS for all network communication.

In-memory data is protected by the operating system’s standard security measures.

No personal identifiers are ever processed or transmitted.

7. Your Choices
Location Permission: You can enable or disable location access at any time in your device’s Settings.

App Uninstall: Removing COPDAR from your device permanently clears any residual in-memory data.

8. Children’s Privacy
COPDAR is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
